The Diverse Family Relationships Lab is interested in relationship process and adjustment for couples, parents, and families who are diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, culture, and socio-economic status.

- Unified Parenting Project: A study of coparenting processes in non-cohabiting parents. This study is also piloting the Coparenting Check-up, which is a free two-session assessment of how parents work together to support each other in raising their child. This study is currently recruiting participants now!
Our completed research studies include:
- Asian American Help-Seeking Study: A study examining family influences on Asian, Asian American, and Caucasian emerging adults’ attitudes towards help-seeking. This study has been completed.
- Young Parents Study: A 2-year study of adolescent mothers and their children’s fathers across the transition to parenthood. This study has been completed.
The Principal Investigator of this research group is Christina Gee, Ph.D. She is an Associate Professor of Psychology and has been at GWU since 2001.
Our research team includes undergraduate students, master's degree students, and graduate students. The graduate students are Rachel Mack, Barunie Kim, and Maya Cook; the master's degree student is Susie Park, who is also the lab manager. There are 11 undergraduate students.
